About the Unit

FMTIS has four implementation units (GE) in Sweden that perform maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems within the IT and telecommunications area, the position is located at GE West. The unit works with the maintenance of the Armed Forces' telecommunications network, electrical/mechanical systems, radio, sensor, surveillance, and field systems as well as installation, operation, and maintenance of various IT systems.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the alarm technician involve performing service and installation as well as commissioning of technical security systems and conducting facility inspections (audits). This is carried out within and outside the Gothenburg garrison at various types of facilities, which also entails some travel within the country. The work includes intrusion alarms, access control, and camera systems. Handling the integration of security products into network structures. You will be part of a competent team of technicians who together are responsible for operation and maintenance. The position involves work at heights, where an approved climbing certification is required. Therefore, a medical examination and training for work in masts and towers will be conducted during the probationary period.

Qualifications

  • 3-year upper secondary education in the field of electricity, telecommunications orientation, or equivalent knowledge assessed by the employer as equivalent.
  • Current and relevant work experience with alarm and access control systems.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Driving license B (manual transmission).

Meritorious

  • Good knowledge of surveillance systems.
  • Good knowledge of security solutions in networks and servers.
  • Work experience from service jobs with electromechanical locks.
  • Approved climbing training for work with significant height differences according to AFS 2019:3 71§.

Other

Civil permanent employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Business trips will occur at locations other than the regular workplace.

During this period, medical examinations and training will be conducted for work in masts and towers.

In the Armed Forces, the position is referred to as telecommunications engineer.
